The College of nursing is the unit of Indian Medical centre which is nonprofit charitable trust registered under Tamil Nadu societies registration act XXI of 1860,the mission and vision of which is to render services to alleviate the hardship of the humanity and to do services for the Health , Education , Socio economic development of the Nation.
The organization is rendering Educational services by providing Urban Amenities to Rural Area {PURA} through Gnanadeepam Matriculation Higher Secondary School and medical services through Dr.Kumaraswami Health Centre a multispecialty hospital.
Since Nursing Profession occupies a strategic position in the delivery of primary health care system, the society has started Dr.Kumaraswami Health Centre-School of Nursing{Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery Course in the year 2007 } and The College of Nursing in the year 2011 to train the girls for Bachelor of Science in Nursing{4 Years Degree Programme}.
It is the perseverance and hard work, the sweat and toil of Dr.C.Kumaraswami, the past president of Indian Medical Centre which has translated our dream for alleviating hardships of humanity to reality and hence the Society pays homage to his services by naming The College of Nursing in his Name.
