Now the college is managed by Director Dr.S.Gnanasoundari who is a dynamic lady and has got experience in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology and she has the credit of having conducted more than 30,000 deliveries. With the experience gained she has authored a book “Manapperum Magapperum” “Bliss of marriage and child birth” in Tamil which deals with the problems of women from puberty till the end of her life in 1000 pages with illustrated diagrams. This book has received many prestigious awards from Tamil Valarchi Kazhagam, Chief Minister of Tamilnadu, Dravidian University and various reputed organizations.

She has been awarded by many organizations for her social activities, a few of which are below:

• The International Association of Lions clubs at South India Lioness’ Meet she was given MELVIN JONES WORTHY PERSON AWARD for her extraordinary commitment, exemplary dedication, single minded devotion pioneering efforts, remarkable thrust and unique achievements of empowering people by improving their lives through”COMMUNITY HEALTH CARE INITIATIVES” thus enabling them to enhance the quality of their lives thereby making this world a better place to live in.


• The Science city has given life time achievement award in recognition of her unique and abiding contribution in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology a philanthropist, educationist, able administrator and untiring policy maker. Her quality healthcare measures have percolated to the lower strata of the society and have helped the rural population garner the benefits of scientific advances and technological inputs.


• For her exemplary services M. G. R. University has given a life time achievement award which, she received from the Hands: Tamil Nadu Governor Honorable Rosaiah.


• She was awarded as the Best Doctor by Indian Medical Association.As the Director of Dr.Kumaraswami Health Centre College of Nursing, she is working hard to uplift the economically weaker section and is a role model to the Nursing College Students.
